Your Impact
Handshake is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a growing Employer engineering team. In this role, you will be leading the development of Handshakes Employer-side features by scaling our enterprise offering and implementing features to enable data-driven recruiting for entry level (college) talent. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who can lead, grow, and mentor the engineers building our Employer-side products.
Your Role
We're focusing on innovating Handshakes core experience for employers, while constantly improving our technical foundation and user experience. Were excited for you to work on:

Your Experience

* Proven track record in leading a team to ship features and products.

* 2-5 years of experience managing high-output engineers.

* A background in software engineering - the ability to understand the teams technical challenges and architecture is the key to success.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Excellent people management skills, focusing on supporting empowerment.

* Understanding of Agile methodologies.

* Product-focused mindset.

* Passion for helping teams and individuals grow and for building an inclusive culture and diverse team.

Your core mission

As a Lead in Computer Vision, you are in charge of guiding the computer vision team towards building creative new computer vision features for our users.

We are looking for someone to develop creative computer vision features (including object relighting, 3D object reconstruction, 3D pose estimation, shadow segmentation, fine-grained object detection)

You work with a small & eager to learn machine learning team. Your work will be complementary to our main focus on background removal. For example: object relighting, 3D shape estimation, neural rendering, work on pose estimation (human, object and scene), object labeling, image editing, and synthesis tasks such as hole filling and generative image editing using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)

Computer vision solves real users' problems at PhotoRoom, it saves them time and helps them grow their e-commerce or small business. You take into account direct feedback from our users in your computer vision work.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:


Worked closely with multiple engineering and non-engineering teams simultaneously to facilitate planning and product execution, work decomposition.

Defined metrics, and associated data collection within Jira in a consistent manner, while applying lean principles.

Configured and managed Jira workflows, team boards

Built information radiators in the Atlassian suite (or comparable).

Demonstrated strong presentation and communication skills.

Good understanding of Agile values and principles 

Experience with Data and BI projects is a strong plus

Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree desired, or equivalent industry experience

5+ Years working in a capacity of Project or Program Manager, (an Agile Role as Scrum Master, Product Owner or Coach would be preferred)

1-2 years working across multiple engineering teams for planning and reporting

Strong written & verbal communication skills

Flexible and open minded with a positive attitude
