We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to help us manage and expand our growing product portfolio. As a new Product Manager in SOCi, you would be paired with an Engineering Director and up to 9 engineers that you would work closely to continue to refine and build out sections of our SaaS platform, either around our presence (content management), care (reputation and engagements) or growth (ads) product lines.

Responsibilities and Requirements



* Maintain an ordered list of backlog based on priority for bugs, issues, and features (backlog grooming)

* Develop user stories and functional specifications for top items in the backlog (spec'ing)

* Work with Engineering Director and Technical Leads to refine technical specifications for new features and products

* Continually clarify product requirements and work closely with engineering teams on a daily basis

* Review and sign off on all product changes after they have been developed to ensure they match original requirements

* Solicit product feedback from internal (sales, CS, executive) and external (customers) stakeholders to expand product backlog

* Evaluate and report on product usage metrics on a regular basis to validate prior decisions and inform backlog grooming activities

* Ensure new products are complete and user-friendly such that they are easy to grasp and use

* Ensure adequate documentation and communication exists for product changes (in-app tutorials, product emails, knowledge base articles)

* 2+ years experience working in Product Management 

* Start up experience desired

* UX/ Frame working knowledge desired

Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead development for on METAL, our brand-new Inventory Management System. A successful candidate will have an active-oriented mindset and a focus on exceeding expectations, who operates with vision and integrity. Directors of Engineering can expect to play an active role in the development and completion of projects, meet and report back to upper management, plan and monitor work schedules, and work with multiple and diverse teams. Some of their responsibilities also include aligning engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, approving newly-developed policies from various departments, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful as a Director of Engineering, you should have exceptional leadership, communication and project management skills, years’ of management experience, and a belief in developing the skills and talents of others. Ideal candidates will have experience in identifying and navigating organizational changes, a keen interest in trends in engineering and leadership, and an above average emotional intelligence.


About METAL:

METAL is DI's brand-new Inventory Management System (IMS) and is built with modern design plus lightning-quick controls to help our clients move metal faster than the competition - without any training needed. Designed mobile and tablet-first, METAL allows car dealers to quickly and easily manipulate their vehicle inventory, and have those changes appear on their Dealer Inspire website in real-time with API synchronization. From easy-to-implement pricing rules to the ability to upload hi-res inventory pictures, METAL offers a full-suite of features that modernize inventory management.


Skills & Requirements:

Essential Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


* Architecture and development of new features.

* Set and enforce code quality standards and test coverage.

* Function as “project owner” for some new or existing projects, managing initial requirements, feature requests, and long term support.

* Leadership and mentoring of junior developers.

* Supporting established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies.




Required:


* 3+ years experience with front-end technologies such as React, Redux, and Webpack.

* Mastery of HTML and CSS/SASS/Styled Components

* 3+ years experience working with NodeJS

* Experience with NodeJS frameworks like Express

* 3+ years experience working with MySQL or any NoSQL database; the ability to write efficient queries and benchmark/profile them

* Strong understanding of asynchronous programming

* Understanding of local development environments and integration of varying components.

* Experience with performance debugging and benchmarking

* Git version control

* Experience with testing frameworks like karma, mocha, or jest

* Strong attention to design detail. Matching markup/layout with mockups, and making them better. Knowing when things are off (even by a couple pixels) - and knowing why that impacts the experience negatively.

* Strong communication skills.

As a Product Marketing Manager at TaxJar you will


* Define, prioritize and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy for TaxJar’s sales tax compliance products: TaxJar Reports, AutoFile, SmartCalcs API, TaxJar Plus, etc.)

* Develop product positioning, value proposition and messaging that differentiates our product to our key target audiences.

* Plan the go-to-market launch strategy for new products, new integrations and feature releases, and manage all cross-functional product marketing efforts.

* Collaborate with sales, development, partnerships, and success to ensure the feedback from our customers is documented and included in the product roadmap and development plan.

* Provide development teams with direction and content messaging within the TaxJar app.

* Develop written & video product assets and provide subject matter expertise for all marketing campaigns and efforts.

* Communicate the value proposition of the products to our sales team and work with the design team to develop the sales materials/tools that support the selling process of our products.

* Administer and report to the company on Net Promoter (NPS) metrics & goals.

* Find ways to creatively surface and automate the promotion of product-related revenue drivers (annual subscription plans, AutoFile enrollment, etc) using data to reach the right customers with a customized message.

* Must be willing to travel and attend in-person trade-shows with customers occasionally.




This is a key product marketing role and requires a self-starter with strong experience in organization, communication and execution of marketing needs. You don't wait for others to tell you what to do—you figure things out on your own. You ask questions. You get clarity. You do what's best for the customer. You listen well.



REQUIREMENTS


* Experience in building creative assets and marketing content

* Experience in planning and actioning multiple, complex marketing programs including budget management

* Experience in the SaaS, eCommerce space

* Demonstrated ability as a product or technology advocate, with the ability to collaborate with engineering and marketing teams
