Senior Product Designer

Close.io
product product design saas Sep 17, 2021Apply

Job Description

About Us

At [Close](https://close.com), we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a fully profitable, 100% globally distributed team of ~45 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

We are growing the Product team (of 4) to help define the features that will have the biggest impact for our customers and their sales teams.

About You

You are a generalist with a wide set of design skills including user interface design, user experience design, an understanding of usability concerns, and the ability to write easily digestible copy. You enjoy the challenge of designing for sometimes deeply technical problems.

You have helped build and maintain design systems in Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.

You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, with a high level of autonomy. You have designed beautiful and elegant solutions for desktop SaaS products and are familiar with the space.

You understand technical constraints, their impact, and can adjust your design approach accordingly. You enjoy the problem solving aspects of design, and youve had experience working on complex web or desktop apps.

You have been wrong and can admit it. You can articulate why it happened and how youve learned from that experience. Youre not precious about your designs and can accept constructive feedback freely. Equally, you can argue effectively for your viewpoint when needed.

You are able to easily demonstrate your process for taking rough concepts and briefs from lo-fi sketches through to high fidelity mockups ready to be implemented. Youre confident in communicating the rationale of your decisions.

You are in a European or American timezone.

About The Role

You will be responsible for understanding and designing new features and improvements as part of a small feature team. You will ensure the solution satisfies the initial problem statement, is technically viable, and integrates well with existing design patterns(or add new ones where necessary).

Youll be working with [Drew](https://www.linkedin.com/in/drewgeraets/), [Ben](https://www.linkedin.com/in/bendcohen) , [Anthony](https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonynemitz/), and [Phil](https://www.linkedin.com/in/philfreo/) on a daily basis and often with the engineering team throughout the design process.

Come help us with projects like:

* Conceiving, designing, building, and launching new user-facing features
* Building out our design system
* Prototyping and validating concepts with users
* Refining our design process and expanding how we communicate between teams
* Collaborating with Product Managers and internal stakeholders on user research and validation

Why work with us?

* [Culture video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbyGnLhtj0o&feature=youtu.be)
* [Our story and team](https://close.io/about/)
* 100% remote-first company (we believe in trust and autonomy)
* 2 x annual team retreats ([Lisbon Retreat Video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKjyXMz-q-Q&feature=youtu.be)) - when travel is appropriate
* 4 x quarterly virtual summits
* 7 weeks PTO (includes company-wide winter holiday break)
* 2 additional PTO days every year with the company
* 1 month paid sabbatical every 5 years
* $200/month co-working stipend
* Revenue Share (after 1 year)
* Choose between working 5 days/wk (standard full-time) or 4 days/wk @ 80% pay
* Paid parental leave (10 wks primary caregiver / 4 wks secondary caregiver)
* 99% premiums paid for excellent medical, dental & vision coverage, including an HSA option (US residents)
* 401k matching at 6% (US residents)
* Dependent care FSA (US residents)

We are a small team doing great things - every role is critical to the success of this company. People that are most successful at Close have a resourceful, doer approach and mentality. We focus on productivity, impact and quality of work. Were looking for team members that genuinely understand the nature of being part of a small team that operates in a bootstrapped / start-up-like environment.

At Close, everyone has a voice. We encourage transparency and practicing a mature approach to the work-place. In general, we dont have strict policies, we have guidelines. Life-work harmony is an important part of our organization - we believe you bring your best to work when you practice self-care (whatever that looks like for you).

We come from 12 countries and 16 states; a collection of talented humans rich in diverse backgrounds, lifestyles, and cultures. Twice a year we meet up somewhere around the world to spend time with one another (however were opting for quarterly virtual summits during 2020/2021). We see these retreats as an opportunity to strengthen the social fiber of our community. This team is growing in more ways than one - weve recently launched 14 babies (and counting!).

Unanimously, our favorite and most impactful value is Build a house you want to live in. We strive to make decisions that are authentic for our organization. At Close, we have a high care factor for one another, in making an awesome product and championing the success of our customers.

Job Description

Time zones: SBT (UTC +11), JST (UTC +9), CST (UTC +8)

Float, the world’s leading resource planner, is looking for a Customer Support Specialist to help our Asia-Pacific customers succeed and gather feedback on how we can improve.

We’re a team of people living our best remote work lives. From New York to Melbourne, Canada to South Africa - our team of Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing and Customer Success folks work asynchronously to help teams plan and manage their time better. Float is self-funded, profitable, and growing. If you’re a self-starter, aligned with our values, and are looking to join a team that’s passionate about helping others work and live more productively, we want to hear from you. Here are a few tips from our CEO to make sure your resume stands out from the crowd.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who’s at their best when helping others succeed. You’ve had previous experience supporting SMB and mid-market customer for a software service. You are an excellent communicator, and you know which medium to use to provide the most effective support, whether it be a written response, a quick phone call, or screenshare.

You may have previous experience working for a creative agency, studio or firm and know first-hand what problem Float is solving.

We expect that the successful candidate has had experience in the following areas:
  • Responding to inbound customer requests using live chat
  • Using video, screenshare, voice or email to solve customer issues effectively
  • Excellent written and communication skills, having previously contributed to knowledge bases and support content
  • Routing leads to a Sales team based on a set of qualifying data points and questions
  • Support tools like Intercom (preferred, we use it), Zendesk or Help Scout
  • Basic technical knowledge. You know where to find the Developer Tools in a browser, and know what APIs are typically used for
For this role you’ll require great internet, and peaceful surroundings for taking video or audio calls. You’ll need to be available between the hours of 9am-5pm AEST Monday-Friday.

What You’ll Do

You will represent our Customer Success team for the APAC region!

Your days will be filled responding to inbound live chat and email messages from new and existing customers. You’ll support them by educating them on the value of our features and plans, troubleshooting issues, and above all, understanding their needs and challenges, and how we can best solve them.

You’ll find creative ways to respond, whether it be a rapid-response live chat, Loom video recording, or scheduling a call. You’ll find small ways to delight our customers (your gif game is strong).

In your downtime, you’ll work on enhancing the self-serve options for our customers, from our Loom video library, to our FAQ content and internal knowledge base.

As the voice of our customers, you will play an important role in communicating customer feedback themes to the broader organization.

This role does not have a revenue targeted. You’ll identify leads using a predefined discovery process to hand-off to our Sales team. Our customers value fast and efficient responses, and your success in this role will be measured accordingly, including average inbound response times and customer survey results.

What We Offer

The salary for this role is US $83K USD (estimated $112K AUD).

All of our team members outside the US are hired as contractors—but don’t worry—you’ll have access to the same great benefits.

We have a range of expanding and improving benefits and perks including:
  • Home office expense budget
  • Co-working expense budget
  • Health & Fitness budget
  • Annual team meetup
  • Care for your community

We’re a global company and we encourage people of all different nationalities, backgrounds, and perspectives to apply.
