POSITION: Software Engineer - Frontend
REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering
DIRECT REPORTS:Not a people management role
LOCATION: Ideally close to Toronto but REMOTE OK (current engineering team is distributed across Canada)

About the Role
We're looking for a frontend-focused Software Engineer to work across our React & Next.js (written in Typescript) codebase to develop an eCommerce marketplace accessed by millions of people worldwide.

As we develop the next generation of eCommerce marketplaces, you'll have a hand in defining our headless event-driven approach (React/Next.js/Typescript frontend, CommerceTools & Python/Django backend, GraphQL APIs) that will power our seller portals, consumer experiences, and event tracking pipelines to feed our data science team to allow for scale. A successful candidate will be hands-on and motivated to work in a mature environment owning their codebase from design & architecture, to test automation, performance, accessibility all the way to production.

POSITION: Senior Product Designer
REPORTS TO: Director of Design

About the Role
We are looking for a UX research-driven Product Designer to add to our Design team at Browze. The design team is managed by the Director of Design, Daniel, who has long years of experience in strategic design. This individual will help our product design team create a compelling user experience through user research and workflow analysis, reinvent our shopping experiences for our marketplace while being mentored and coached by Daniel. This individual will be working with a cross-functional team to take ownership of creating & pushing a robust interface & brand visual style into our products.

Within your first 30 days you will:
- Familiarize yourself with our customers, products, and personas we've developed
- Meet and get to know your fellow Design, Product & Engineering teammates
- Collaborate with other designers on your first projects on the consumer shopping experience

Within your first 3 months you will:
- Understand Browzes goal as a cross-border marketplace and conduct relevant user research then present the results to stakeholders
- Help the team develop a visual style guide, component libraries & design system to speed up production & engineering
- Be involved in designing multiple variations of potential product solutions for growth experiments
- Be iterating towards and building a vision of what the Browze shopping experience will evolve towards
- Launch features across our mobile apps, desktop consumer shopping experience, and our backend marketplace
- Present at design demos, actively participating in design critiques, and work through feedback
