SchooLinks is an ed-tech company that is changing how students explore and pursue their post-high school goals. We have a suite of over 80 tools for students and school staff including college application management, course planning, financial situations, personality assessments, college profiles, and many others. We are a remote-friendly, globally distributed, remote-friendly, and venture-backed startup.


We're looking for a hands-on full-stack engineering manager to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering delightful software for SchooLinks customers.


Note: We presently do not have the ability to sponsor H1-B Visas


What you'll do:
  • Lead a small team of 3-5 software engineers to build out features as they come down our product roadmap
  • Ensure the timely delivery of projects and remove blockers as they arise
  • Collaborate with other managers and leads to identify and implement technical solutions to improve the performance, reliability, and quality of the SchooLinks Platform
  • Triage, prioritize and manage the resolution of production issues and customer escalations as needed, to ensure optimal resolution
  • Working with engineering leadership to recruit, screen, and develop new engineering talent to grow your pod
  • Provide guidance and coaching on your team career paths in support of their professional development
  • Ensure your team is maintaining good technical hygiene code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of management experience leading successful software engineering teams
  • At least 5 years of IC engineering experience
  • 4+ years experience working with Django and React
  • Experience with asynchronous task management (Celery preferred)
  • Solid fundamentals in relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience solving challenging technical problems
  • Team-first, customer focus, and quality first mindset
  • Strong communication and team-building skills

The impact youll make: 


You are a crucial driver of success for our most tactically complex customers. You will acquire deep product knowledge and apply your customer facing skills to make an impact on product adoption, expansion, and retention for a very valuable customer base. 

You will act as one of the primary customer contacts (along with your partner Strategic Account Manager) with a focus on driving product adoption and implementation, customer enablement of the platform and adoption of best practices, campaign management, as well as delivering value realization through reporting and analysis. 

You will liaise with different internal support teams like Product Success, Customer Insights Analysts, Product Managers, Enablement, and Ad Ops, to triage best practices to translate into consultative input to the customer, so that they are successful on our platform and with their account based strategies overall. 

You are ideally someone who is comfortable in a start-up environment where change is not only expected but embraced for the opportunities it represents. You will use your ability to stay agile without losing sight of key objectives. You will be at the center and forefront of a rapidly evolving MarTech ecosystem and the expertise you develop in this role will pay dividends for your career. 



Skills youll bring: 


5-7 years of Customer Success or AdOps experience, preferably in the adtech or account-based marketing industry

SaaS Sales or Renewal process strongly preferred, Media knowledge preferred.

Experience managing dozens of tasks simultaneously and comfortable with self-managed prioritization

Ability to coordinate and organize several internal and external stakeholders to move fast and get things done

Highly organized on different levels - from structuring customer calls / meetings / follow up, to maximizing your week, to planning your quarter

Business acumen - ability to research companies and industries to understand and relate to customers, translate this into meaningful conversation

Responsibilities


* Become an expert of our no-code platform and be comfortable with explaining technical concepts to a non technical audience as well as working with our world-class developers to build new product features

* Present and speak to senior decision makers from C-level down

* Support the Sales Team with deep product expertise, answering RFPs when required, conduct in depth POCs and product demonstrations

* Consult with our sales leads base located mainly in the US region, helping them to create highly innovative applications to scale their businesses with BRYTER

* Manage a number of parallel projects and pilots for prospects together with our account executives, defining their roll-out plan and seeing the projects through to completion on time and on budget

* Co-ordinate and conduct workshops, trials and training for prospects

* Contribute to the constant improvement of Pre-Sales practices, as well as the Commercial team as a unit

* Travel may be required (when possible), whether this is to engage in client meetings or speak at international events and conferences




 
Qualifications we would love to find


* B.Sc./M.Sc. degree or similar, in law, business, computer science or a related field

* Very good understanding of cloud-based applications

* Demonstrable experience in project management with the potential and attitude required to learn

* Ideally 1-2 years of professional experience in fast-paced and competitive environment, e.g. BigLaw, Big4, Consulting, Banking or in a SaaS business

* Demonstrable experience of working in a self-starting environment. A builder, not a follower. Someone willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Proficiency in the English language, preferably native speaker

* DACH only: native German speaker with strong English skills

* Interest in implementing feedback and dedication to consistently improving your craft

* Love of data to track and improve your own performance and that of the Commercial team

* Some technical and/or legal experience is preferred

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

Drive new business success & contract extensions through various activities, including performing on-site and virtual product demonstrations/training. This includes cross selling and upselling across the product platform

On-going remote support to our growing customer base on Catapults entire range of athlete monitoring hardware and software solutions

Customer service initiatives, follow-up calls, visits, emails and communication central to creating a great customer experience

Maintaining Client Health through active account management

Product feedback and innovation internally

Provide evidence based, scientific materials for marketing, internal and external purpose

Maintain a large database of information

Aid in the data analysis of our elite teams where required

General representation of Catapult at domestic and international conferences where required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED


Proficient in both Korean and English

Minimum 1+ years working in the elite sporting environment

Understanding of performance monitoring tools such as GPS; Video Analysis; Tactical applications 

Understanding of statistical analysis of large data sets

Proficient with computers and Microsoft office

Account management experience with a large customer base (desired)

Great communication skills to foster new relationships and build on existing relationships with a select customer portfolio

Ability to analyse, and interpret data

Effective communication to articulate findings to coaches, athletes, and other performance staff

The desire to influence the performance management of elite sports

Ability to work individually and with a larger regional team

Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, particularly software and hardware engineers

Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science required
